Cate McKay is a Licensed Massage Therapist, born and raised in Northern Virginia and, providing licensed therapeutic services since 2019. She often jokes that, although she received her licensing in 2019, she has been practicing in some form since she was 6 years old. Cate found her passion for helping others as a child through working on her family at the end of long work days, and after graduating high school she went on to gain formal training and learn the science behind her formerly self-taught practices.

While managing her own chronic health conditions, Cate has found a great deal of fulfillment in learning more about how to manage and treat chronic pain, and illnesses. She is enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge and experience with others who are on their own journey with chronic pain or chronic illness. Massage has been a great benefit to Cate’s own wellness journey and she is excited and hopeful that she can have a similar impact in others lives.

In addition to traditional Swedish massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, and deep tissue therapy, Cate has additional focus training on specific muscle groups in order to treat and manage various types of pain. Working with the neck, the hips, and the referred pain associated with those areas are some of her specialties. Cate regularly works to customize and add value to all her sessions by offering to incorporate cupping therapy, CBD oils, and more to your session.

Cate offers regular appointments on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The online calendar reflects her standard availability, but additional appointments are often possible. If you’re not seeing a time that fits your schedule, you’re welcome to email cate@nurturingtouchandwellness.com to inquire. Reaching out does not require special circumstance—questions and scheduling requests are always encouraged.
